What is Biofertilizer?

What is Biofertiliser?

Biofertilizer is an organic substance containing living microorganisms that colonize the rhizosphere or interior of the plant and promote growth by increasing the supply or availability of primary nutrients to the target crops, when applied to soils, seeds or plant surfaces.

The microorganisms in Biofertilizer restores the soil’s natural nutrient cycle and builds soil organic matter. With the use of Biofertilizer healthy plants will be grown while enhancing the sustainability and health of the soil for the near and far future.

Biofertilizer contains all the nutrients and micronutrients necessary for modern farming, including high level but soft impact Nitrogen, Phosphate and of course Potassium.

Biofertilizer is a living or biologically active product that will enrich the nutrient quality of the soil by using microorganisms that establish symbiotic relationships with the plants. ref (Vessey)

About us

Where does biofertilizer come from?

Organic Biofertilizer is one of the two products gained whilst running an efficient Anaerobic Digestion plant.

The first is capturing the Biomethane and turning it into the much-needed energy, Methane, that can be easily stored and transported to industry, homes and vehicles.

The second product of equal importance is the digestate. This is what is left from the feedstock when all the biogas has been removed during its time in the sealed digesters. The digestate is then separated into liquid and solid organic biofertilizer.
